I'm Not Crazy, I'm From Texas
Scratch recording with guitar and vocal. It's a song that brags on Texas.
Mandolin, guitar and saxophone player. Recreational song writing and desktop recording is my fun.
Story behind the song
Someone made a comment "I'm not angry, I'm from Minnesota"
I tweaked this remark and wrote "I'm not Crazy, I'm from Texas". Much better I think, being an Arkansas transport to McKinney, TX. I live here now, so I might as well be patriotic!
Lyrics
I'm Not Crazy, I'm from Texas
Words and Music by Jerry Bradley
Country waltz style
Hill country sunsets that make you cry,
Bass chasing minnows, Wide open sky
When this songs o--ver you'll know why
I'm not crazy, I'm from Texas
I like my shotgun, I love my wife,
Good job, good neighbors, a happy life.
Up North there's cold snow-- suspicion and strife
I'm not crazy, I'm from Texas
Chorus
I'll lend a hand--, but please understand--
Don't you come prowlin'-- on my hard earned land,
My home is my castle, I'm king of the hill
Mess with my faml'y you'll be feelin' quite ill.
Winter is mild here, no income tax
Schools still teach music and country dance
Football and chili and big sky romance
I'm not crazy, I'm from Texas
Congress get busy and take the lead
You'll work for Texans or we will secede.
Freedom was purchased with red Texas blood
We're not crazy, We're from Texas
We're not crazy, we're from Texas.
