melodic piano soundtrack relaxing mood world peaceful
Artist picture
My music is a collage of world themes and sounds. It is often peaceful and it sounds like it would belong in a movie soundtrack.
I was born in Logan Utah. When I was three my family moved to Olympia Washington. My parents introduced me to their antique upright piano when I was five years old, and my love for the piano began. When I was ten my parents separated and I moved to Seattle, Washington with my mother and away from the piano. The next year I was given my first keyboard and I began to compose my first melodies. When I was 14 I moved back in with my dad and was reunited with the piano. In the years that followed I continued to create music on the piano. In early 2000 I got my first Roland synthesizer and began exploring different world music themes. In the ensuing years I expanded my repertoire and produced sixteen CDs. In 2005 my mother gifted me my very own piano. My music can best be described as melodic, emotional, and varied. My other passion is fine art. Since I was old enough to hold a pencil I was drawing mountains and nature landscapes. My band name is derived from my love of painting. All cover art is from my original paintings. The painting on the cover of 'What it Is to Love' was inspired by a trip to the Olympic Rain Forest in Washington State.

This is a perfect, perfect piece. You know, my other love happens to be acrylic painting - my teen years in Africa were a blur of painting to Vivaldi The Four Seasons on repeat..and a few others So while acknowledging that this song isn't particularly Vivaldi-esque, something it particular work was hauntingly nostalgic taking me directly back to that period of my life..I think the magic for me here is that this, as an instrumental, completely stands tall on its own and is in every right a masterpiece. Cheers.

Ian, This is a remarkable track. I appreciate so much all of the subtleties you put into your music. It says a lot about you as a person, how much you feel and how hard you try to express it. Your work here is exemplary. Thanks for sharing it!

no one, not even you can say you ain't good enuff for film scores and new age.... so emotional. so beautiful. so perfect. do not quit. we need someone to aspire to.
Ian, sort of like Will Smith all alone in NYC with a bunch of wild animals.... Perfect piano tone, great synths with a kind of WHALE singing, strings, flute, percussion. Deep soothing, satisfying. I love this. Well, I see the person walking, rather on the beach than in Manhattan, looking at the sunset and reflecting how and why man wiped out mankind and he´ll be the last of us. Well, well done! Concerning mix and master I adore your taste and guts! It´s not easy to reduce levesl of certain sounds you really fell in love with while playing and/or programing. But to do it nonetheless tells the amateur from the pro. Congrats!

Stunning. Perfect mix - great textures & layers with the synth and darn, that sounds like a real flute/whistle! It has real space & dimension - which sometimes gets lost when people have too many things going on at the same time. - John
