Story behind the song
Second scene of the act.
It’s getting dark and Misha sneaks in the dorm, finding it empty ,calls to Raisa, who is waiting in the hallway. Privacy is hard to find on these premisses and so young lovers finally have a time
to express their love for each other. Dreaming about the day when they will exchange their
pledge in marriage they embrace and kiss.
While they are in ecstasy of their embrace the scene is changing. Scenic see-through screen is now separating the two lovers from their background. Their classmates coming in with all kinds of boxes with food and bottles and rearranging the dorm so that there is now a plenty of room for festivities. All is done as a ballet and pantomime with the rhythm of music.
At the end of this intermezzo all one by one exit the dorm.
