Good slowish song about how vanity cant save youre soul.
I play acoustic/folk/emo
I am acoustic/folk/emo
Story behind the song
I was sitting at the city public pool last summer and saw all the teenagers all skankified in their tight little bikinies, and all the guys with their rippling abs, and began to contemplate (somthing i dont often do at the city pool) about how lots of people today think vanity will get them everything they want in life. so i started to mentally jot down a few phrases. I started to smell somthing vary familiar when i came up with the title and chorus.
Lyrics
Summer time, Time to unwind
But im not unwinding at all.
I spent my time hangin out with fools,
and im not gonna do it anymore
Chorus:
Cause sunscreen and chlorine is not what its all about
Cause we've been and ive seen that theres more than sunscreen and chlorine
Ive laid out, and ive caught my rays
Ive surfed it up and skated long long days
but i cant eat this dirt and i cant take this town no more.
Bridge:
I gotta save my self
I gotta do youre will.
Chorus
