Musician and song writer in Seattle, Washington.
For as long as I can remember, music has been a passion of mine. While playing for a live audience is great fun (most of the time), I've always had a special interest in recording -- both the technology and the process itself. These days I don't play gigs any more, but I enjoy writing and recording music for others to hear online. Hopefully, you'll find something you like here. Story behind the song
This song literally came to me in a dream. It was recorded years ago on the lo-fi Fostex X-15 with the help of my friends Craig Hansen and Steve Schultz.
Lyrics
I missed the Himalayas and couldn't find Australia They say its best to take a native guide Its just a month or so, wont you promise me you'll go Go along for the ride We'll visit the Bahamas and photograph the llamas Then it's off to Hollywood to see the Queen And when the tour is through I'll remove myself from you Boy racing to the moon Nothing you can do will make me stop and change my mind When I reach the stratosphere I'll leave the Earth behind My cousin Aphrodite flew off to Kansas City She had to see a man about a car He took her for a drive but she brought him back alive Didn't get very far You said you had a notion of universal motion That night I took you out to see the stars I wondered how you knew then you showed me it was true Boy racing to the moon Nothing you can do will make me stop and change my mind When I reach the stratosphere I'll leave the Earth behind Its such a lovely planet especially when you're on it Ill have to come and visit you again Ill love you for a while even though its not my style So long until then I'll never quite forget you but still I'm glad I met you Its logical to look at it that way Trying to fit it in the left compartment of my brain But it's too soon Boy racing to the moon
