The Final Call
Golden years they are not
Everything I learned I have forgot
Youth is short and old age long
Soon you’re singin’ your swan song
My dancin’ days are over
No more rollin’ in the sweet clover
Can’t kick my legs too high
Arthritis is the reason why
My past I know I can’t undo------------------- {Chorus
I know the Lord will pull me through
How will my tombstone be inscribed
With just my name and date I died
Did I make a difference I don’t know
Will I be forgotten the day I go
Will they remember me at all
Or will they forget me at the final call
I have taken to my rockin’ chair
Reminiscin’ and rockin’ away my cares
Immune to all the problems of the day
Repentin’ all my sins as I rock and pray
I’ve had trials and tribulations
Some joys happiness and jubilation
My bones creak as I rock and roll
Can’t rock too fast it’ll take its toll
My past I know I can’t undo------------------- {Chorus
I know the Lord will pull me through
How will my tombstone be inscribed
With just my name and date I died
Did I make a difference I don’t know
Will I be forgotten the day I go
Will they remember me at all
Or will they forget me at the final call
Instrumental Break 8 Bars
I think of the things I could have done
All the mistakes I should have shunned
It’s way too late now to turn back
This old train’s run out of track
My past I know I can’t undo------------------- {Chorus
I know the Lord will pull me through
How will my tombstone be inscribed
With just my name and date I died
Did I make a difference I don’t know
Will I be forgotten the day I go
Will they remember me at all
Or will they forget me at the final call
Will they remember me at all
Or will they forget me at the final call
