D.Linkwent It would be wrong to say that he's tyring to put VA on the map. If you think about it, the commonwealth has always been there, bringing a different style and perspective on music. D.Linkwent, born and raised in Richmond, has always loved music, writing, and the stage. At a young age he began spinning records for fun and producing tracks for himself and friends. Soon thereafter fell in love with the power of words. "...As soon as I was able to write... Stories, plays, lyrics, no matter what -- I was either creating music or creative writing..." Story behind the song
"I love telling stories and having my lyrics be as vivid as possible. So, I was having a sh** ty day at work, frustrated with my life and surroundings. Just sat in my car during a break, and started writing about the sh** I was seeing. Part 2 is different [than the original], because it [is] acoustic. The lyrics come across a lot more meaningful because there [is] nothing to take away from the vocals. The lyrics sound more like spoken-word, rather than just another rhyme. "
