Jesus Won't You Speak © April 18, 2009, 2009 I'm tortured with uncertainty What's happened to my faith I really ought to hit my knees So long since I have prayed This world is too much with me now A different time in space Than when I was a blameless child And sang Amazing Grace How sweet the sound that satisfied my needs And through my heart I felt an inner peace But all those feelings I once knew so well, are shot to hell Wondr'ing if that Lamb really bled for me Jesus won't you speak God, it's lonely here Strip this doubt from me Help me see things clear Jesus won't you speak..to me When they called Him a superstar My life began to change Though I still felt Him in my heart I didn't call His name My flesh gave in to bottled highs For time was mine to waste I was a creature of the night Life was my one act play Jesus won't you speak God, it's lonely here Strip this doubt from me Help me see things clear Jesus won't you speak..to me My mind still has the power to decide I don't believe a puddle..and a lightening strike Created this lost soul who's sitting here, in despair Questioning His grace and eternal life Jesus won't you speak God, it's lonely here Strip this doubt from me Help me see things clear Jesus won't you speak..to me He'll even speak to a wretch like me And so I am..as when I first believed
