This was a difficult one, as the whole idea with this album was that it would have a good ‘poppy’ edge to it, but when played live this song sounds so raw. Anyway, I like the way it turned out in the recording, especially the bit from the M8 to finis

Story behind the song
It is basically, from being a person who relied too heavily upon drink and drugs. And, as anyone who’s been in that situation knows, that can make you feel paranoid and just want the ground to eat you up at times.
Lyrics
Here is another little song I wrote, I will shoot so much and never go, Until, I can feel no pain. Well, my baby said I drink too much, Then she said I smoke too much, Well, yeah, I guess I am just a waste. So, stop looking at me, You will never make me see, I am wasted once again. Well my head is spinning round and round, And my feet, they just can’t touch the ground, I have been writing down words that I can’t sing. Well, my Moma said I drink too much, Then she said I smoke too much, Well, yeah, I guess I am just a waste. So, stop looking at me, You will never make me see, I am wasted once again. (There is then a little reading from William S. Burroughs’ the Naked Lunch)
