I was asked to provide a solo for an community multi-denominational Good Friday service. I wrote this song for that occasion.
Lyrics
No Greater Love Words and music by Jim Allbery I am amazed by God's great love That he would send his Son beloved-- His unstained sacrificial dove... There could not be a greater love. No greater love-- no greater love: Christ died so we might live above! The Father sent his Son beloved-- And there can be no greater love. And on that mount of Calvary, He suffered so, yet thought of me. My sins nailed him to that tree, And still my savior died for me! No greater love-- no greater love: Christ died so we might live above! The Father sent his Son beloved... And there can be no greater love. And it makes me cry-- It makes me wince-- To think he died for all my sins, And that we may know Heaven's bliss: There is no greater love than this. No greater love-- no greater love: Christ died so we might live above! The Father sent his Son beloved? And there can be no greater love. No greater love-- no greater love: Christ gave his all: his precious blood! He died for us, his own beloved-- And there can be no greater love. I thank the Father and the Son For their amazing gift of love!
