Story behind the song
This is a song that was born out of Kay Howard's (a dear friend of mine) struggle with cancer. The Lord used one of my songs to minister to her heart during this difficult time. The Lord gave Kay these words through the "valley" experience she went through into wholeness! Some people give me songs with the admonition, "This song was given to me by the Lord." And to be honest, there are lots of times when I think...He gave it to you because HE didn't want it!" This was NOT the case with this song. Very few words of her lyrics were changed. It flowed very easily into song. Kay is available to give her testimony if you live anywhere around Lincolnton or Charlotte North Carolina. Personally, I think she needs to be asked to join the "Women of Faith" tour. From what I've heard her testimony is powerful!
Lyrics
My child you’re in a valley The road’s so long and steep But trust in me completely I’ll be your strength when you are weak Fear not I have redeemed you Your name is written on my hand Release your fears and worry Though you do not understand Chorus: My grace is all sufficient For what you’re going through Remember I’m your Father I know the plans I have for you I’ve walked the road before you And I will give you perfect rest My grace is all sufficient No matter what the trial or test Call my name and I will answer Show you great and mighty things When the storms of life surround you Hide in the safety of my wings Be strong and of good courage Release your every fear I’ll never leave you or forsake you My child I’m always here Bridge There is no shadow in my presence Trust my heart and find my peace I am your rock your mighty fortress Your refuge from the enemy
