Recorded in Berkeley, CA at Todd's Studios
Folk, rooted in rock, and infused with beach music
Check out THE ARCADISTS. I put down the Taylor and picked up a Strat a couple years ago. Probably will go back to the acoustic rock someday, but am having a great time with my band.
Story behind the song
Song was written during the move to San Fran from Baltimore. Takes you through some of the challanges of moving and the love of a new city
Lyrics
I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer,
I said to my girlfriend there's something about this place that I hold dear,
Now I look back at the times I've been wasted and the thoughts that disappeared,
it's tough to find a comfort in a place thats far from here.
With the sun at my back I'm ready to go,
but I miss my girl on the eastern shore,
and I won't hold back I'm ready to flow,
here I come San Francisco,
here I come San Francisco.
Now that my bags are packed and my friends have wiped their tears,
I'm going back to a place that I've missed and I haven't been for years,
sure I'll miss the experience of being somewhere new,
but until then my soul will do the talking and my guitar will be strumming through...
With the sun at my back I'm ready to go,
but I miss my girl on the eastern shore,
and I won't hold back I'm ready to flow,
here I am San Francisco,
here I am San Francisco.
Now that I got my place Pac Heights I call my home,
just as the leaves on the trees turn green,
my inspiration it keeps on growin'
and there ain't nothing better than that mild foggy weather,
in a place that I call....
With the sun at my back I'm ready to go,
but I miss my girl on the eastern shore,
and I won't hold back I'm ready to flow,
lord I love San Francisco,
I said lord I love San Francisco.
