Acoustic rock and folk rock with country, blues, and American Songbook influences.
Formerly "Dr. C and the Stratocats," I'm now on a solo career as "Dr. C," but I had to change my stage name here because someone else had already claimed it. My music strives for melody above all else; I strive to make my songs memorable, so you can whistle a tune immediately. I see melody as the element most lacking in contemporaryr music. I love Sinatra and the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, anyone who can write a memorable "tune."

Story behind the song
I've slept in some bad places, like Central Park, but it's all about how you wake up and approach your life, as this man did.
Lyrics
CRY OUT LOUD I was sleeping in a ditch by the freeway on Easter morning; I could hear the sounds of the cars and the trucks on the overpass above me, And I couldn't think of any reason in this wide world why anyone would want to love me: Chorus: Then I saw in the sky a single swan-shaped cloud And I had, yes I had, I had to cry out loud. I got up, rolled up my bag, brushed off my jeans and went and bought a cup of coffee, . Gave the change to some panhandler with better shoes and a better haircut than me, Jumped in the air and twirled and clapped my hands and noticed I was free: Chorus There's talkers and scoffers and con men and ragmen and bagmen and greasy salesmen, too, Who'll pretend to sell their very souls just to get a little piece of you But remember what Polonious said in Hamlet, "To thine own self be true," Chorus I see there's trouble brewing, violence stewing all across the USA, It's rich against poor, us against them, me against you all the livelong day, And instead of trying to listen seems like everyone's got too damn much to say: Chorus
