"XXRUB is a rock band ready to explode in all directions. As passionate admirers of various musical genres, they've taken on various sounds with their latest album. "A Never Ending Walk", XXRUB's latest offering due out in early summer of 2009, paints with all the colors of rock and soul. Songs range from a Brian Eno-inspired ambient tune to a Morrocan feel, jazz-infused groove, from a Black Sabbath/Slipknot hard rocker to a bluesy/pop number, from reggae dub/ska quirkiness to a gospel intro with an eighties groove, a Beatlesque tribute, and definitely a Bo Didley riff like no other. The title track is basically a "dream" put into a song. Some songs have some very serious undertones, yet XXRUB never takes itself too seriously! Wide ranging are their rock influences, from icons like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Clash, Hendrix, Bob Marley, U2, and Bo Diddley...God rest his soul. All are remarkably ever present in this project. Song topics include: the possible apocalyptic year of 2012, love on the brink of salvation, suicide, anti-suicide, the past's innocence, philosophy/theology/history, a daydreaming high schooler, sin city, more love on the brink, and of course, man's incapacity to learn his lessons." "Such is life, a never ending walk." - Anonymous

Story behind the song
A hot, dry desert day almost gives in to a forgiving dusk as the sun goes down on the strip. It's the summer of 2006. I cannot remember the exact date, but for snapshot moments like these, exactness gets left behind by the mood of the Las Vegas experience. I'm staying at the Bellagio with a goddess, taking in the city, and of course, the Las Vegas mantra, "wonders never cease", keep my senses at constant spin cycle. The hotels, the casinos, the 24-hour contagious euphoria of both locals and tourists alike, the world's famous landmark facades; the surreal experience of the Eiffel Tower, the Manhattan skyline, and St. Marks's Square of Venice, all help to keep the excitement, and the romance going. After a long desert walk, we end up right where we started, on the sidewalk, staring at the "bella vista" that is Bellagio, right between the strip and the lake. Water, for some spiritual reason, always binds the heaven and the earth, connects the sea and the sky, and dilutes the man-made and the natural, you get my drift. As excitement looms, and the shortened anticipation comes to a halt, we hear some god-forsaken Shania Twain song blast over the many outdoor speakers along the lake. It was a moment of inspiration, unknown to me at that very second. The high flying, graceful fountain waters emote feelings of utter amazement, and the crowd gazes with wonders and ahhs. After the last drop, I stood there, left with this calling: "I could write a better song for this!" The following morning I wrote "Las Vegas Baby".
Lyrics
Love took a chance on us, love let us be Romance healed the both of us, truth set us free But love, wont get us through the night The light wont let us sleep tonight Lust fills the air tonight, that love doesn't see Chance rules the room tonight, wonders never cease But love, wont get us through the night The light wont let us sleep tonight Las Vegas baby, you sang your song to me Las Vegas baby, bright lights in harmony Las Vegas baby, you brought me to my knees Las Vegas baby, oh baby save me...please! Please please please... Las Vegas Baby, oh baby save me...please!
