Acoustic rock and folk rock with country, blues, and American Songbook influences.
Formerly "Dr. C and the Stratocats," I'm now on a solo career as "Dr. C," but I had to change my stage name here because someone else had already claimed it. My music strives for melody above all else; I strive to make my songs memorable, so you can whistle a tune immediately. I see melody as the element most lacking in contemporaryr music. I love Sinatra and the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, anyone who can write a memorable "tune."

Story behind the song
While traveling back from LA I pulled off the freeway to scribble down the lyrics of this song, about my longing for the NorCal coast.
Lyrics
Mendocino It's a long, long way to home With my memories on my back It's a long, long way to home To the trestles and the track If I'd known what I know now I'd have never left this town Where the pines run to the sea And my heart will always be Mendocino, Mendocino, Mendocino There's a fortune to be made Where the building rise so high And the pigeons congregate But the lawyers rule the sky. Walking in my three piece suit I could hear the distant flute Where the cliffs and ocean met I could never once forget Mendocino, Mendocino, Mendocino In a universe of space It is good to know your place Can't be measured by a clock Only by the waves and rock. In a skyscraper of stone I was never so alone Staring out at city lights Longing for the campfire nights-- Mendocino, Mendocino, Mendocino.
