The Glass Poets - lyricists / song writers We, The Glass Poets Lyricists Team are, Douglas W. White (owner/founder/lyricist/rhythm guitar) of California, Barbara Adkins (lyricist)of Florida and Michael A. Bradshaw (co - founder/lyricist,vocals,piano,drums,lead) of Alabama. Our unique story is WE HAVE NEVER MET IN PERSON. All of our material is written via emails, phone conversations. Once a solid lyrics structure is agreed upon, as all 3 of us are musicians, one of us will lay down an original acoustic guitar/piano track. We do not consider ourselves as a band but instead STORYTELLERS. Once all of the tracks are recorded Douglas and Micheal then engineer them into song format the best they can. Due to the economy and also the geographic distance between us we cannot afford studio time so we use home recording programs such as Tascam, Mixcraft, Majixs and Adobe to self produce our material. Lyrics
Peering from a motel window, down on my luck trying to survive I noticed a homeless woman holding a child about the age of five Knee deep in a garbage bin trying to feed her baby girl What I had witnessed churned my stomach into a nauseous whirl Due to my circumstance, low on money and under hard times was I But the thought of this child eating garbage brought a tear to my eye From my pocket I pulled out one of my last bills Went to this woman and child and said, " Mame, can I buy you a meal" Chrs: Listened from a motel window to the cries out in the dark I know I cant help everyone but I cant control my heart Many times I have turned the wrong way down the crossroads in my life Ended up in the middle of nowhere people starin as they walk on by Been cold and lonely out of money and friends it`s a pain that you cannot hide I thank the Lord each day I wake, man I`m still alive from a motel window in my life Even though I was at a place in my life where I did not want to be I knew I would survive having faced tougher battles times three So when tomorrow comes and I have to give again to someone in need Good Lord that is just what I will do without losing any sleep Douglas W.
