This page, in it's current incarnation, is mainly a place for me to put the songs I have written for FAWM (February Album Writing Month) 2007 and am writing for FAWM 2008. It's a great little challenge, check out their website at www.fawm.org Have a listen, in time I may add older stuff, we'll see...

Story behind the song
"Deye mon gen mon" is a Haitian saying that roughly translates to "behind the mountains are more mountains" i thought it appropriate material for a month of 14 "mountains" please let me know how to really pronounce the Haitian -- I'm just guessing...
Lyrics
Deye mon gen mon (chorus) it's one foot after the other, keep on climbing, sisters and brothers one foot after the other Deye mon gen mon sad is the man who thinks of life as troubles without end for on this chain of mountains, there is beauty at each bend. (chorus) a man can't see the mountains beyond the one he climbs, and all that any man can do is climb one at a time. (chorus) each new peak is higher yet, sometimes the progress slows, but what would be the point of life, with no place left to go? (chorus)
