Michael Blue is an independent solo artist specializing in an eclectic blend of '80s Electronica, Soundtrack, and Alternative Christian music, all wrapped up in
Welcome to Michael Blue's SoundClick page! I have been writing and recording since the early '80s and have recorded literally thousands of tracks. Mostly scratch demos of simple song ideas. My primary instrument has always been some form of synthesizer or keyboard workstation, though I also play guitar, bass, saxophone, percussion and others. Essentially, my "style" is hard to pin down. It has been described as a blend of good old-fashioned '80s electronica and modern acoustic ambiance, with some orchestral thrown in for good measure. This generally makes for an unusual sonic experience, without the overworked "trying to be different" feel. I have been actively involved in the worship community at my local church on and off since the '80s. I have also been involved in other church-related musical endeavors, including a local-access cable TV program called KDOT. Currently I am working on my first Indie release; "MUSE" (EP), and hope to have it completed and ready for distribution by late 2010. This site gives access to some "behind the scenes" listens to some of the scratch demos that will eventually be reworked into tracks for the project, as well as some other demos and scratch pieces I'm working on. I use SoundClick as a tool to distribute for critique as well as to work with non-local artists on projects. You can be sure to see updates fairly often in addition to a fairly unusual mix of music, from electronica to pop to film soundtrack.

Story behind the song
Sitting in an exit interview at a job I was wrongfully terminated from, 4 pages of notes against those who terminated me...I found myself being too passive to even use my notes. I felt pity for the people the notes were about, and was afraid that using this ammunition against them would only make me look like the typical former employee...That all the negative would only reflect on me, and not on those who had wronged me as it was intended. I had even contacted an attorney who said he'd take the case on contingency; he felt so strongly that I had a case against them. In hindsight, I'm not alone. Even Jesus had the money changers in the Synagogue. As Christians, sometimes we have a tendency to play the "door mat" role in this life. We need to learn that it's OK to stand up for what is right. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 NIV)
Lyrics
Sometimes I find myself, Asking if I’m too kind Asking if I’m so blind, That I play the fool Sometimes I contemplate, If I’d deliberate Would I be filled with hate, Or would I change the rules Sometimes tables need turned Sometimes bridges need burned Sometimes it’s hard to find the heart of man Sometimes tables need turned Sometimes I’m all alone, Feeling out in the cold Wondering where I went wrong, Is there a way to know Sometimes I’m just too nice, Knowing I’ll pay the price Is there antidote for this device, Another way to go Sometimes tables need turned Sometimes bridges need burned Sometimes it’s hard to find the heart of man Sometimes tables need turned ©2009 Michael Blue
