About a wife that is concerned about getting older
music country rockabilly comedy oldies
Just myself singing my own songs. because I couldn't get anyone else to sing them
I have been writing songs since 1965. Some of my material has been used in several movies, one of which won the Sundance award in 1998. I like writing and doding demos better than doing live shows

Story behind the song
My wife was in the bathroom getting ready to leave one morning and began talking about her hair color and heer face showing age. We were about to celebrate our 35th anniversary, and she still looked good to me.
Lyrics
My Friend, My Lover, My Wife I couldn’t help but to overhear, when you looked into the mirror You said who’s that woman staring back at me? You said her hair has turned to gray, and her face now shows her age But darling let me tell you who she is. Now she’s the mother of my children, the pride of my life My friend, my lover, and she’s my wife There’s only one of her in this whole world; And after thirty years you’d think it would dim But honey I’d do it all over again ‘Cause you’re really special in my eyes. Now before you begin to weep, remember beauty is only skin deep So take a good look at that woman again, The beauty she has is beyond compare, with any age or gray hair So let me introduce you again. Now she’s the mother of my children, the pride of my life My friend, my lover, and she’s my wife There’s only one of her in this whole world; And after thirty years you’d think it would dim But honey I’d do it all over again ‘Cause you’re really special in my eyes. Yeah she’s the mother of my children, the pride of my life My friend, my lover, and she’s my wife There’s only one of her in this whole world; She’s a grandmother with a lot of grandkids She stuck by me through thick and thin Yeah she’s really special, oh can’t you see.
