Story behind the song
I wrote this as a poem about one of my little grandson's, his name is Jason.
It started as a memory of me holding him by the hand and helping him jump
puddles while playing outside. Also of his Mom reading him Bible stories and
teaching him about Jesus. Then came the mountains he had to climb, he had eye
surgury at 2 years old, leg surgury at 5, later diagnoised with migranes, then
with a form of spina biffida. Each Mountain he has jumped like it was a puddle,
all thanks to faith, love, strength and guidance, He is my Little Man
Thank You Marvin Lane for the beautiful words you added to make this all it could be, your the best
Lyrics
Puddles
You taught me when I was little
Jump the puddle don’t soil my shoes
You told me that I could do it
with two strong hands that I could use
For you held me by my left hand
Christ Jesus held my right
You looked at me then smiled
So I jumped with all my might
The puddles seemed too wide
The puddles seemed too deep
Though they made me cry
They never made me weak
Whenever there were puddles
I put my trust in Christ
He gave me strength to jump them
These puddles in my life
I know I’ve had many problems
I’ve endured in my short life
But I think of them as puddles
Two strong hands I know no strife
I remember all you taught me
Close my eyes then I jump
Puddles that looked like mountains
In my eyes were just little bumps
The puddles seemed too wide
The puddles seemed too deep
Though they made me cry
They never made me weak
Whenever there were puddles
I put my trust in Christ
He gave me strength to jump them
These puddles in my life
So please don’t you worry about me
For I am in the best of hands
Not afraid of jumping puddles
I know Jesus has special plans
The puddles may seem wide
The puddles may seem deep
Though they made me cry
They’ll never make me weak
Whenever there are puddles
I’ll put my trust in Christ
He’ll give me strength to jump them
These puddles in my life
He’ll give me strength to jump them
These puddles in my life
