Lyrics
Don't Let The Door Hit You (on your way out) D. Darnold / J. Darnold 1/2/2009 Funny how things can change Wake up one day and nothing the same Out a job of twenty one years All the hard work that comforted every fear Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let this door hit you on this way out On out of here I compensate a life of memories worth it's weight in gold to a family Doesn't really what you want to do Cause I know there's nothing left to prove Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let this door hit you on this way out On out of here Every proud man has to please every one But a job isn't what you've become There's a light, a women, and guitar The growing perspective of who you are Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let the door hit you on the way out Don't let this door hit you on this way out On out of here On out of here

Hi Jamey, I had to spin this song with this title. LOL! Says it all so well. Great lyrically. One of the things that strikes me most about this track is the very full sound you are getting with pretty much all accoustic guitar. Very nice playing. I also liked the harmonica. Seems like an all to often heard phrase to long term employees in our nations companies. Way to tell it like it is!

Really fine Production Jamey. The singing subtle and it works real well. YOu got to be proud of this one. The job thing maybe one day they'll get it right again. Theres an important message about how people are treated in the workplace. The door shutting at the end. Nice

Howdy Jamey, My friend, I think that I wrote you about this awesome song in email b4 I came back to SC.... and it still holds true this is a great song!!!!!!! The melody is imaginative in it's detail and enticing, it draws the listener in to hear what's next. The lyrics are superby written, poetic and filled with experience and the wisdom that's built on this thing called life, love and the pursuit of happiness. Your vocals and background vocals are always so well done..... well, I just need lessons from you!!!!!!!! The message in the song is straightforward simple truth and it doesn't come any better than that in any song, anywhere. The entire production, arrangement and performance is just beautifully done....... I also could use harmonica lessons from you too, btw!!!!!!!!! Jamey, there are just not enough stars for this one either....... but I gave it all they'd allow me to muster, plus two thumbs up and a guitar pick fling!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respectfully my friend......Well Done!!!!!

Jamey, I too can relate to your lyrics here! As one of the older folks at the click I've got 30 years in and I see major problems in valuation of a persons position across the nation. And a business degree for a sales position,, Kinda doesn't make sense either. While I've observed our youthful admin's and Managers who haven't got a clue including our wonderful politicians and how we vote them in,, not on values or common sense,, but looks,,, kinda like when were in high school voting for the homecoming king who normally was the school jock.. Amazing all the pics that came to my head. Cool song Jamey!! I see many sides to this one.. I like songs that make a person think.. Bob

Definitely a song many can relate too! People have given many years of their lives to a company only to watch it crumble before their eyes. Your song will touch home! Very well done! Humble & heartfelt!
