Polarity & Shroombab met each other via ICQ on the word wide web. They have both produced tracks before they decided to collaborate. Polarity from South Germany already worked on several drum’n’bass-tracks, whereas Shroombab from Vienna (Austria) still worked on trip hop & acid tracks, besides she has already started her DJ-carreer with drum’n’bass. In 2000 the first productions of this collaboration followed and they got some attention of different drum’n’bass-djs who started cutting dubplates of their tracks. Additional to simple instrumental tracks, they work together with vocalist Terra, with whom Shroombab also founded the successful live-project „Junglistic Sistaz“.

Story behind the song
A haunting, bleak track underlined by deliciously intricate beats and minimalistic melodic elements. MC Terra provides a vocal performance that sits uncomfortably at first, as if she's trying to adjust herself into dnb mode from what is obviously a trip-hop inspired vocal style. However, as the track progresses her performance gets stronger along with the beats. Production levels are completely professional as well, so the only source for criticism can only come from the tune itself which, if I were to be picky, is perhaps a little too sparse and in parts quite clichéd in the context of the style. But the power of the performance prevails overall, and as the track progresses the listener is very much rewarded as the pace picks up. In any case, this track is certainly unique on this site, and as such not to be missed.
