Story behind the song
Lelja, the guardian of Little Mac's memorial page at The Rainbow Bridge website, asked us to write a song to remember this beautiful young golden retriever pup who suffered so terribly in his short life. One of the hardest things to do is to read about the horror of animal cruelty. It never gets any easier and I can't find the words to write about what was done to Little Mac. He wasn't given the chance to grow up. Maria, your commitment to this great cause is so commandable, I really admire your conviction to your lyrics. Your voice rings of the pain felt by the mistreatment of our furry friends, man's best. I love this song as much as I love everything I hear from you and Paul.
