Story behind the song
This song started as reflection on events in my life. Upon looking back, I started to see things from a different angle. It was a search for things such as love, peace, acceptance without - only to discover that they were always there within.
Guitar/Vocals: Bob Miller
Recorded in Cakewalk Sonar 7
Lyrics
Many hours, many miles rushing past, to find my way to you
Lightning flashes, the sky is growing cold, a storm is coming through
But on this long road, there’s far to go till our feet can kiss the ground
So I’m pushing on, fighting back a yawn, as the rain starts coming down
I find it amazing how the raindrops always seem to look the same
The falling water blurs the windshield even as I wipe the rain
The weather’s changing, and it’s hard to tell if the storm with lead to
Rainbows, or lead the way to pain
But I’ll find my way, and head toward solid ground, when the sun comes out again
Blindly driving through the wind and falling rain, determined to get to you
Flashing lights pull me over and say “Son, you can’t get through.
The bridge is out ahead, the river’s out of bed, the road’s no longer there
Looks like you’re on your own. It’s time to head on home.” All I could do was stare
I find it amazing how the raindrops always seem to look the same
The falling water blurs my eyesight as I’m standing in the rain
The weather’s changing, and it seems to me that there will be no
Rainbows, for the storm has brought me pain
But I’ll find my way, and head toward solid ground, when the sun comes out again
Many years have gone, and as I travel on, the journey is for me
I’m not alone. When I opened up my eyes, you were waiting patiently
For me to sing my song, and know it wasn’t wrong to have music of my own
I set those fears aside, no longer need to hide from all that I’ve been shown
I find it amazing how the raindrops always seem to look the same
The falling water clears my vision as I’m dancing in the rain
The weather’s changing, and deep inside I can finally see the
Rainbows, even where I once saw pain
I found that I was there on solid ground, when the sun came out again
The weather’s changing, and deep inside I can finally see the
Rainbows, even where I once saw pain
I found that I was there on solid ground, when the sun came out again
