Big production pop-rock song about a love that wasn't going to happen - The first six songs here were packaged in a CD by "David Harlow", a collaboration of sorts between myself and my friend David Hardman.

Someday, you will be able to go to http://www.DavidLoeb.com and find a lot more music, video and whatever... but today it'll probably just bump you to a "David Harlow" CD page at CDBaby.com. The "David Harlow" thing (the 3 rocked-up songs) was something of a joint project between myself and my friend David Hardman that we made when we were both in Nashville. He produced it and played ALL the music except for regular drums. I sang all the vocals and wrote the songs. Brad Jones engineered/mixed, Jim DeMain mastered.

Story behind the song
Takes place largely in a coffeehouse in St. Louis, but you'll have to read the lyrics to understand what's going on... This recording (1 of 3 songs) and its production was something of a collaboration. I wrote the songs and sang them while my friend David Hardman played all instruments but drums and produced it. This was all while he and I were both living in Nashville. Brad Jones (Jill Sobule, etc) mixed and Jim DeMain mastered it.
Lyrics
Far Away Look at me, won't you please see I exist I can't seem to catch your eye It's comedy, a sad routine that I won't miss What a way to say goodbye Far away, far away from here I'll go I can drive until tomorrow She sings a song from an old familiar list yes I've heard this one before And they sing along, all her friends cannot resist it's the music they adore Far away, far away from here I'll go I can drive until tomorrow Far away, far away from here I know I can hide from all the sorrow It's the way she moved her hands, as she told me all her plans She cut her hair, trying so hard not to fit now she's looking like a boy And she don't care if I stand or if I sit it's the music she avoids She, started out to be everything I'd ever need, I couldn't read between the lines Far away... ©2033 - David Loeb
