Poetaster, Revo1 (short for Revolution One Love!), with over an hour of spoken word prose for your listening disaster, dares you to attempt to struggle through
I was challenged to a message board poetry slam. And this is my final product. A twenty minute written on "the sands of time through an hour glass". I was limited to sixteen lines and this is what I did with it. My inspirations are a writing of James Baldwin and the spirit of The Last Poets.
Lyrics
Well time is of the essence
But who clocks the clocksmith?
Who times the timekeeper?
Who watches the watchman?
Who carries the world with a grain of sand?
In life we're nameless
So who holds the hour hand?
Walk the street with me
Where big cities crumble
To the glass house meant to break
Where the sands of time are walked over
Like the dirt cracks in the cement scape
See time is unknowning
Like a blind man's enlightening
You can count the grains if you want
But I'm too caught up in the glass housing to ever notice
