Alexander “ El Secreto “ Biography Alexander was born on April 9, 1987 in Jersey City, New Jersey. At the early age of five he began to practice dancing and singing on his own. Four years later he took piano, flute, and guitar lessons. He later participated in school and local events in the community, including talent shows where he received multiple awards and trophies for his talents. By twelve years old he had a growing interest in different genres of music. After watching a show on MTV one day he noticed the art of being a disc jockey and was interested in finding out more about it. He bought his first pieces of equipment and then began his disc jockey career. After several parties he was hired to attend Alexander started to become recognized in the area as a local Dj . This led him into investing towards his business name. Alexander developed his company name as DJ Shadow Inc. With his rising business net worth he began a whole new world of communication with different people. Alexander met several producers that showed him a little of what they do and he was taken from the start. In 2000, Alexander bought his first computer and learned how to work with a program called Plasma from the CakeWalk. His original intention was to create dance music. After one year of creating dance tracks Alexander stumbled upon the musical structure of “ bombo y plena ” (the poly rhythm from which reggaeton dembow is created from). He was so interested in the new discovery that he decided to post pone all of his projects affiliated with dance music production and began producing reggaeton. He hired several partners to continue running his DJ business while he continued producing. One year later he was signed to work with Block Royal and Zeek Records. After two years of developing his unique sound he decided to part ways with the two record companies and decide to look for better opportunities in the field. Alexander began creating his own signature dembows, which caused much attention from other producers. He has maintained theses signature dembows hidden only to be released for his most commercial arrangements. With this said Alexander “ El Secreto” is developing an extremely different form of creating arrangements for the genre we have come to know and love as reggaeton.
