Story behind the song
I was supposed to be concentrating on my new music project - 80's synth pop - when this sad little song popped into my head. It was written, recorded and mixed in two days in May 2002, and could best be described as an "angry ballad". :o) I happen to think that unrequited love is the most powerful force known to humankind. I was concentrating on that sentiment when passionately singing the chorus to this song. In case you are interested, the lyrics are indeed heartfelt. The person this is directed to knows who she is, although I guess it will ring bells with anyone who has ever loved and lost someone. The track is based around a simple 4-chord piano motif and a sampled double bass. I'm quite proud of the string arrangement, especially as I did it so quickly.
