Story behind the song
This song was based around the piano-like bass tumbao that serves as the foundation for most of the piece. This line came about while I was working for a bandleader that sometimes "forgot" to call musicians for gigs. On one ocassion, he "forgot" to call a piano player, leaving me as the only harmonic instrument on this salsa gig. I was forced to play busier to cover the space usually filled by the piano. A frustrating gig, but on the positive side, I came up with this bass line, and eventually, this song.
