Just another singer/songwriter. I play all my own instruments (except drums) and record on a Boss BR1200CD standalone multi-track recorder
Just an old Back To The Land hippie that stuck to his plan.

Great song! Lyrics is well written and easy to sing. I can picture that beautiful river throughout your song. I reflected back on some beautiful rivers I have enjoyed in my childhood. Nice bluegrass song! :)

I love this song Charlie, you paint so many pictures of your home and the wide open country where you live with your fantastic lyrics. There's a love you speak about, your home and surroundings and animal inhabitants you share your home with. This is a bluegrass song, nice slide and even heard a banjo, great instrumentation, but it's the lyrics that touched me most. It reminded me of my place at Wasaga. And you're right across my town, your Genessee river flowing into lake Ontario, beautiful my friend, loved every word of it.
Listening to a few more now and digging it all.

Genuine lyrics and in my opinion the right music to the lyrics - it gives a special atmosphare....makes me think of the river we have back home as well..

Not only a great song, but crystal clear production too! This is a wonderful way to start the New Year, floating down that river with you :) Reminds me a little of the Eagles in places, and that's no bad thing!
The vocals and playing are spot on, and the slide solo fits perfectly - Excellent!!!

Hi Pine,
nice to see you getting back into your music again! I love this one, I think you're terrific on these country songs and this is so evocative of the great outdoors, the vocal sound is perfect and so is the playing and you're getting pretty nifty on that ole banjo! Keep 'em coming, I can't think of anything better to kick the New Year off with :)
Peace

Lovely song, Charlie, you are not only a great songwriter, but too a very good singer!! Happy record, friend! Jiri
I wish I could write a song like this ,but place names over here don't sing well,a song about the river Cam would sound a bit naff. This is a song about the place where you live and what a joyous sound it is,superbly put together and heartfelt by a man at one with his surroundings, great job.I've heard this before on one of your albums and I spent a week trying to play along with it.Very uplifting gem from the Appellations.
