Artist picture
Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Cousin Perry Copyright by: Verne Garrison Oct 6, 2008 Valley Park, Mo Banjo tuned E, play key of D D Model Airplanes hanging on a thread, A Held to the ceiling with a tack My cousin Perry made them D With the help of his brother, Jack Made of balsa wood and glue A Mustangs, Corsairs, and bombers too Liberators and flying fortresses D Many of them painted red white and blue Perry was small, slight young man A Had to go fight the war in infantry So he left the planes with brother Jack D To watch while he was gone, you see He fought in the Bulge and the Argonne, A His thoughts of home, made him go on Perry longed to be home, back D With his folks and brother Jack Finally E-day did come A And Cousin Perry made it home Back in his room with the little planes D And back with his brother Jack again The war had left many scars A And Perry carried them quietly He did his part so freedom would be ours D Thanks to him and his kind, we are still free A D Many thanks to thee, Cousin Perry...
