Fahren the sassy and soulful Washington native is quickly establishing herself as one of the most sought after independent artist in the region. She has emerged onto the music scene with a style and sound that is all her own. She has successfully integrated Soul, Jazz, R&B, and Gospel into rich tenor/alto tones and inspirational lyrics. "Her music is so smooth and soulful, it makes you want to close your eyes and enjoy the ride!" Shaun Alexander, Washington Redskins For Fahren writing and singing became an effective way of communicating her feelings as a young girl. Her birthmother (who suffers from schizophrenia) was raped during her stay at a mental institution, and Fahren was conceived from that rape. She was taken from her mother at 6 months, as a ward of the state and placed into the foster care system. She was later adopted by an older Southern born couple at the age of 8 years old. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Fahren spent her youth listening to her moms' record collections of Chaka Khan & Rufus, Earth Wind and Fire, P-Funk and Evelyn Champagne King. She began singing at church and in school, participating in conferences, musicals, contests and swing choirs. During her college years, she was featured in several music videos, including "Color Me Badd" featuring one of her favorite musicians, Bootsy Collins. It was not until 2001, that Fahren decided to take a step to pursue her passion to sing and write. She has had the pleasure of working on her first CD demo project with Anson Dawkins, member of the gospel due group "Dawkins and Dawkins" and Super Producer Derek Clark, who has worked with artist such as Ruben Studdard. She serves faithfully as an active member of the praise team at Christian Faith Center, Pastors Casey and Wendy Treat, and featured on their 2005 CD project "Now that I Know". Her most recent CD project, Fahren- My Story released in 2007, and was produced by Tri-Quad Productions: young and talented producers Michael Cole, Jr. and Chris Fuller, along with some native up and coming producers in the Northwest Greg Mallory and Will Roberts. Fahren has received two honors at the 2007 Northwest Music Awards hosted by ITM (In the Music), as the Best Female R&B Album and Best Crossover album. She was just recently recognized as Indie ring tone "Artist Pick of the Day". Her independent album is currently in rotation at local radio stations in Seattle, Baltimore, Japan, Germany and England. Her single "Rollin", is also in rotation at skating rinks throughout the Pacific Northwest. She performs regularly around the region with her band "Inspirational Soul", a group of gifted and awesome musicians, that she is honored to call friends. Fahren is also a petite model for Seattle Models Guild, based in Seattle. She has done commercials, print ads and fashion shows throughout the region. For Fahren, nothing defines her more completely than the sound she grew up on: good old Soul Music. Fahren truly believes that soul music is not just a genre, it's an emotion. Everything that you experience in life comes from your Soul and when you feel what you sing, you can communicate and touch the lives of people with your music. She has been very successful in touching lives with her music and her new Soul EP is set to release in summer 2008! Fahren is truly a unique and one-of a kind musician; you will love her music and the positive presence she brings.
