7spokes was formed in August 2008, with the intent of rising out of the stagnant local music scene and write heartfelt original music without crappy genre restrictions. It was three guys who wanted to pool their creativity together and have a blast doing it ... three guys with their unique contributions to the unique sound of 7spokes. A drummer who worships the likes of Chris Adler, Danny Carry and Gavin Harrison. He brings an entire new dimension to the band's music with his unique crazy rolls and simple yet elegant grooves. From thundering double bass to kinky off beats, he has the head (... and the headgear) and the repertoire to define his own original style. A bassist who is forever in love with the blues and funk and idolizes the likes TAAQ, ZZ Top, Zero, RHCP. Deceptively laidback, his ability to tune in to the 'feel' of songs is the backbone of 7spokes' music. Onstage or off, Groove Becomes Him. A guitarist who keeps finding ways to make chords sound weirder. With influences ranging from John Mclaughlin to the likes of Opeth and Porcupine Tree, it makes up for a wide range of musical styles that the band incorporates into its sound. Amazingly gifted with both riffs and solos, he is all the guitarist the band would need. After a few lineup changes, the band finally settled on Niranjan (a.k.a Manjan) as the vocalist, a brandy drinking maniacal comic whose excuse for the brandy being it a tonic for his vocal chords!. His brilliant lyrical delivery combined with his passion for experimenting has finally completed the band's sound. In a short span of 4 months 7spokes has come up with 3 originals. The band plans to release an ep soon.
