am well the piper played as the children danced c some say they didn't stand a chance d am hypnotized by the sound of his call they gave up all their common sense ended up behind a fence that's a long long long way to fall c One way or another g You've got to pay the piper am f he'll take it now or take it later on c No use in pretending g no one can hear the sound am f the piper is just outside of our town c g the music will play am until the piper gets paid. well the grass looked green on the other side the piper kept them mesmerized two by two marching thru the gate when the townsfolk heard of it all they searched and searched until nightfall but by then they knew it's too late
