Story behind the song

The music took a long time to write, and underwent several revisions, but the basic melodies and ideas were written on a snowy day. I was trying to portray the gentleness of the snow using my piano, but in time it ended up feeling more like a love song than a portrayal of the weather. The cello was added at the very end of the writing process.
