The 4th of July 1993, on the way back to San Jose, aboard a 747, I was thumbing through a dictionary when I came upon the word Emissary. "A messenger sent on a mission." Hmm. A name for a band? Maybe. So with Christ in mind, (I had been reading and meditating on The Word for months prior) I grabbed a pen. Meditating on the "Rock of my Salvation" and the stone that had been rolled away to reveal that Christ had risen, blended in my mind. Fifteen minutes later I had written a rock song that looked like this....
