I decided to rearrange this Italian pop-rock song (title means 'The Great Nightmare') by 883 in a hard-rock/metal style. Just the intro in this clip. No particular attention to guitar tone, I tried to get good drums tone (sampled Yamaha DP series).
Just me experimenting with recording techniques
Story behind the song
My drummer and I decided to sample his second drum set (Yamaha DP series, he also owns a Tama Starclassic Maple as his main set). All cymbals and drums (kick drum included) recorded with a Shure SM58. Bass has been written as a midi track, plug-in used is Edirol Super Quartet (6 String Bass and Thumbs & Pulls were blended together, volume ratio about 127/80)... obviously never as good and punchy as the real thing. Guitars have been recorded directly with a Fender Stratocaster and a MESA/Boogie Studio Preamp: this clip's the perfect exaple of being able to make very good pieces of gear sound that bad!
