Salina was very popular singer who was tragically killed by a disgruntled ex manager. I wrote this song after visiting Corpus Cristi and discovering Salinas memorial statue along the boardwalk overlooking the fishing and sailing fleets, moored there. I had just bought an old decrepit classical guitar for 15 bucks and the song just sort of wrote itself a couple if years later.
