If I can bring a little happiness to someone doing what I love, every sacrifice, every keyboard stroke and every late night at the studio, is worth it". - Melody Child Bringing great music to the world is the vision for 27 year old producer, Melody Child. Growing up in Brooklyn as the sister of four brothers, Melody was surrounded by the beats and lyrics of old school hip hop yet influenced by her mother's love of music. Taking the vibe of Wu-Tang Clan and fusing it with the melodic tones of Stevie Wonder seemed like the natural thing to do for Melody. But, combining beats and sounds was not enough for this talented young artist, she was determined and inspired to make her own great music with a sound of her own. As a teen she watched and learned, perfecting her craft. And again she went one step further and taught herself to write music and play instruments, excelling at the drums. Melody Child stated "My ability to play musical instruments gives me an insight into timing, pitch and beat which I translate into producing". Starting out her basement studio, that she built from scratch, Melody moved up to producing for her brothers. Melody Child is very versatile and has always been convincing in music from different point of view. If she's doing a hip hop song, she might throw in some glam rock or reggae beats and it would all make sense. "Since she listens and produces for every music genre, we generally listen", says her brother and manager, Curtis "Lite" Heusner. Finally when she was ready to share her vision she established World Live Entertainment, an independent label and production company. Incorporating her new sound to hip hop she has produced for albums for independent artists such as Zieme of Wise Men Entertainment, Mister Six of Jahnel Records, Parrish Smith of EPMD among others. Her talent and confidence has won her 1st place at the June 2006 Fight Club Challenge. She has been profiled in the All Access DVD Magazine 10th Anniversary Issue and Raw & Uncut Vol. 1., All Hip Hop.com, DV8 Magazine and Skope Magazine. She placed second at the IStandard Producers (Beast Of The Beats) showcase out of 40 of the top producers in the world, which was held in New York City and was one of the largest and most prestigious producers showcase on the East coast on June 20, 2007. On her win from competing among her male peers, Melody takes it all like the professional she is, stating "I feel my music is very different for many reasons, I don't mimic any other producers, I do listen to other producers but they just inspire me to make a beat, It makes me very hungry as a producer". Young, beautiful, talented, and on fire for her music, Melody Child still remains focused and humble. A woman in a male dominated industry is not always easy, but a woman who knows what she is doing makes it all worth while, and Melody Child is just that woman.
