Story behind the song
I was working in Sacramento as a Program Director for 4 radio stations last year, needless to say it was a lot of work. For whatever reason one night I was still there and working on chopping up an audio interview, it was late I looked up at the clock it was 1am, what I thought was just a few minutes later... it was 4 am! Then this song came to me... complete with lyrics, of course the "press yourself on" came from the audio interview I was working on. I was tempted to place that audio clip in the song in a spaced out way, maybe in another version down the road. The Randy California / Spirit background psychedelic guitar reflected how I felt at 4am. I recorded the first demo of it in the production room of the radio station and finished the demo just before our news guy came in.
Lyrics
I woke up Everything’s changed Got this feelin’ I have to get ready A call to action Press yourself on Begin the new dawn A call to action A new paradigm A new time A call to action Press yourself on Past be gone Let yourself go A call to action A chain reaction A call to action
