Propelled by VH1's hit show "Bands on the Run," Josh Dodes has developed a loyal national following for his unique style of high-energy, piano-based pop-rock. His critically-acclaimed debut "Get Up" ("****... a surprisingly accomplished debut album" - All Music Guide) was voted one of the top 5 CDs of the year by the worldwide customer base of online record giant CD Baby. Josh has built upon this success through regular touring - he has played venues such as Irving Plaza and Bowery Ballroom (NYC), Camden Yards (Baltimore), The Tabernacle and The Cotton Club (Atlanta), The Kennedy Center (Washington, DC), and House of Blues (Boston) - and airplay on independent and commercial radio stations across the U.S. In the past two years, he has opened for Avril Lavigne, Pat Benatar, Duncan Sheik, The B-52's, Alana Davis, BBMak, and funk legend Maceo Parker (who asked Josh to do some touring as his organist!).
Based in Burlington, VT, Josh routinely plays to riveted audiences throughout the entire Northeast. Fueled by fan favorites such as "Be My Friend, But Be Naked," which fans have pushed to #1 on MP3.com’s AAA chart, Josh's high-octane live show has been a major element of his evolution from NYC local favorite to an emerging national act.
Josh has just released his latest full-length album, "Freak," which industry insiders are already calling his best yet.
