Solo act playing original and cover material on 12-string and keyboards. Available for booking in Central Oklahoma.
I have been playing and writing songs for more years than most of you have been alive. I started classical piano when I was 8, 12-string guitar when I was ten, and wrote my first song when I was 16. I am largely self-taught, but have benefitted greatly from the many bands I've played with over the years. I've also been an avid listener of music, and sought to incorporate many different styles into my songwriting. As you will hear, my songs reflect the fact that I've been many places and done many things other than just play music. They have, in the original sense of the word, character.

Story behind the song
Again, this song was composed on stage while I was the Boise Blues Society keyboardist. There was a girl sitting at a table, and I was really, really wanting to make some time with her. It didn't work out, but I still got a good song from it.
Lyrics
THE CONVERSATION Dan Matheny – In the Year of Our Lord 2004 It’s been a long, long time, since we had our conversation, Maybe a cup of coffee first – we just talk about the day. We could go for a walk now – by the river just outside my door And hold each other’s hand – walking side by side. Yeh, you know, and I know, what it’d be like. Now later we’d have a bite to eat on my patio in the shade, Just listening to the birds sing and taking in the scene. Maybe lay down for a nap just holding each other so tight. Yeh, you know, and I know what it’d be like. I said you know, and I know, what’d be like. We’d go to the store now– and pick up a few things, That we’d wanna have around for our long, long night. And then we’d come on home – run water for the bath, Yeh, you know, and I know now, Yeh, you know, and I know – what’d be like. Interlude I said you know, and I know – what’d be like. Well, I’d take your hand now love and lead you to our room We’d be eatin’ supper now baby – just lookin’ in each other’s eyes. I’d light a candle a two – and turn out the lights. ‘Cause you know and I know what’d it be like. ‘Cause you know and I know – what’d it be like.
