Story behind the song
"Field Of Blood" is a clarion call to dispel the curse that has been placed on this world since that day on Calvary over 2000 years ago. For while Believers were blessed by the death of Jesus, in that He dispelled our sins, the world was robbed of His Presence. His crucifixion on that day delayed the Kingdom of Heaven, on earth, at which His Father would ultimately reign. The enemy fully took the reigns that day, and has Not relinquished them ever since. Our fallow age, an age that the Hindus proclaim the age of Kali-Ma, their goddess of death and destruction, is the final act in a power play that has been occuring since the beginning of time. Now it is up to US, the people of this world, to decide where we wish to reside eternally. For we can arise from this field of blood, and become strangers to it, or we can rest eternally in it's fallow ground, forever worshipping the proprietor of it, victims of our own destruction. I have compiled a history of what "Field Of Blood" means in a biblical prospective. I pray you find it enlightening. The title "Field Of Blood" refers to the field purchased by Judas with the 30 pieces of silver rewarded him by the Pharisees of the Jewish church after he betrayed Jesus unto them. (Matthew 27:1-8) The Hebrew translation for field of blood is Akel Dama (Acts 1:19). This is, to me at least, some of the most important pieces of scriptures concerning the revelation of this world. For within it is not only the material price the world (Israel) paid for Jesus' death (30 pieces of silver, at the time the minimum price of a slave at auction), but behind it is one of the most accurate fulfillments of prophecy from the Old Testament ever to come to pass. Mathew 9-10 refers to the prophecy, "Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the Prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me." Within Matthew's scripture might seem some discrepency, for while there are references in Jeremiah of him purchasing a field (Jeremiah 32:7-12) as well as to a potter's shop, (Jeremiah 18:1-19:15) and (Jeremiah 18:6), it still is seemingly devoid of literal artifacts of that prophecy. For the literal translation we have to go to Zechariah 11:12-13 "And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD." It is typical in Rabbinical citation to ascribe the original authors of works as authors of new texts as well, hence (Matthew 27:9) quotes Zechariah's words as Jeremiah's, the latter being the original author from whom Zechariah derived the groundwork of the prophecy. While I do deem it important to pay attention to this section of the prophecy that fortells with exact accuracy not only of the price of Jesus' betrayal, but the exact purchase of that money, and the manner in which it was foresaken by Judas upon receving it, there is much more. In reading the whole of Zecharias 11, we find it to be a mini book of Revelations, describing the transition in which Jesus was denied, as well as how the world would go on to accept and worship the Anti-Christ, spelling doom for this generation. This tune is my account of this impending battle between the forces of Good and evil.
