A song about turning to God in prayer, instead of looking to our usual human resources.
worship praise christiansongwriter gospelgrass gary mott
I enjoy music from many different styles, and that is reflected in my song writing. I write gospel songs in Southern gospel, bluegrass, jazz, pop, blues, etc. styles. Although I have lead worship and played keys and sang at our church, I'm not seeking a career as a performing artist. I've been writing and playing Christian music for over 40 years. I only seek to have the Lord glorified in my music. I recorded these demo songs on my home studio to have something to present to publishers/gospel music artists and to worship leaders who would wish to use my songs in their praise and worship services.

Story behind the song
I was thinking about how we usually talk to everyone else about our problems, sicknesses, troubles, etc. before we take the issue to the ONE who is the problem solver.
Lyrics
Just Pray - You talk to your friends, you talk to your pastor You talk to your family, you talk to your doctor You tell them what you need and you tell them where you feel the pain. You talk to your neighbors and the people at work, You talk to the deacons and the elders at church You tell them you’re confused, you ask if they could show you the way. While talking to them is okay -- just pray. Chorus Pray, till the light breaks through, Just pray, and see what God can do. Get down on your knees, He is waiting for you to just pray. Pray, it’s a spiritual fight, Just pray, till your faith becomes sight. Wrestle with the angel till the morning light, just pray. vs. 2 You’re reading books and magazines most every day Spend hours on the internet clicking away Everybody’s got an answer, just send them twenty dollars today. You sit there watching TV, staring at the tube You’re wondering just what Doctor Phil and Oprah would do You’re taking their advice, you hang on every word that they say. God’s calling, “spend some time with me, and pray.” Bridge. You know we talk about it, we read about it We even say, “Amen” when they preach about it But the one thing that we need to do is just pray.
