Story behind the song
The 'Finally' section of this lyric is from 1992. It was just a motivational poem I wrote to myself about my brother's death and my determination to change some things in my life that he, unfortunately, did not. When working on the JUST LISTEN project, I wanted a song that really rocked out and told it like it was for me, now that I'd recovered from my depression, homelessness and addictions. Scott Bradoka's band came to mind as collaborators and enroute to his home, I wrote the 'No One, No Thing' section and in the studio (TMF Studios, NYC), I sang the vocal, after living with the bands instrumental for about a week. The moans happened that day, in the studio, and not since.
