Story behind the song
This track actually was began by no other than the legendary MoFackin' Heembo (Jimbo Glaab). He has an incredible ability to manifest "weird" into his musical passages, and I wanted to build on that premise. This track does start just like that; weird. the intro resolves to some intricate druma and percussion work, lending a very crucial helping hand when I thought I was stuck on this track. This has a sense of immediacy, yet is restrained slightly, as it never really does break loose and go too heavy, as most of our tracks tend to. Funky overlays and too many found sounds to list. MoFackin' did good, and we welcome him to the family of collaborative artists working with Phrygia. Jimbo hasn't really been that involved in the music making process, although I'm sure he would like to be. What's more, he'll create these short but very obscure loops that are definitely his patent trademark. This track was sitting around for quite some time until I finally got to it and extended it past its original 30 second intro. I had a little trouble around the second third of the track, and dropped close to 5 different change-ups in the mix, eventually resolving to use the sitar comps that become the focus of the outro. Peaceful in a teetering world, this track will definitely leave you guessing as to what we were really up to.
