The first part of my tribute to electric-era Miles Davis. Guitars, congas, tablas, deep funk. What more could you want?
Instrumental Jazz/Metal hybrid guitar
Story behind the song
The inspiration for this piece came from the long-form jams that Miles Davis did with his electric band, around 1974-75. The first part is sort of a straight-up Sly Stone groove with spare soloing meant to evoke Miles's timeless style. The piece eventually turns into a deep funk groove with screaming guitar inspired by the late P-Funk guitarist Eddie Hazel.
