Near the end of 2007 a few guys had the idea to start a metal/hardcore band. Soon the line-up was complete and consist of 4 members. After a while the 4 decided to call the band Defeat Lies Ahead in short: DLA! This is where it all started.. The style of DLA can be described as metal / hardcore, but DLA combine the music with others styles as well. Our biggest influence are all the wrong things this world brings us , Such as: Hate, violence, Betrayal and many more. Each member of the band has his own background in music. Denski ( Neurotic, Drain life , S.O.P. ) Marcello ( Mori Beatdown ) Mike ( Avoid the words, Stagnant, Carmine, WARF , Eyes down, Dodge this ) All these experiences contributes to the unique sounds we create with DLA. At this point with a brutal and explosive set we already destroyed stages in Holland with several bands such as, Detox, Pound, Virtually Nothing, Bound in blood, Settle The Score, Arkangel and many more.
