Luke is a composer of primarily instrumental music in a contemporary classical style, with some rock, jazz, avant-garde, and minimalist influences.
Luke Furman hails originally from Omaha, NE, and currently studies composition at the University of Oklahoma. Luke's work has earned him various accolades over the years, including a scholarship and several competition wins. His Sonata for Viola and Piano is featured in the Winter/Spring 2007 issue of the online Oregon Literary Review (http://www.oregonlitrev.org). He is also active as a violist and sometime pianist, having played with the OU Orchestra and the New Improv! Century Ensemble, a group dedicated to the performance of aleatoric compositions and free improvisation. He hopes that you will find something enjoyable in the music you listen to here.

Story behind the song
This was an evolving improvisation of mine that I worked on occasionally for several years. My eventual plan is to arrange it for a piano and string quartet, but in this version it's just me on piano and a friend of mine on electric guitar.
