Solo act playing original and cover material on 12-string and keyboards. Available for booking in Central Oklahoma.
I have been playing and writing songs for more years than most of you have been alive. I started classical piano when I was 8, 12-string guitar when I was ten, and wrote my first song when I was 16. I am largely self-taught, but have benefitted greatly from the many bands I've played with over the years. I've also been an avid listener of music, and sought to incorporate many different styles into my songwriting. As you will hear, my songs reflect the fact that I've been many places and done many things other than just play music. They have, in the original sense of the word, character.

Story behind the song
I was going through a divorce, and it was one the most terrible times of my life. This song came to me, as a gift of God, to help me see the beauty of my environment in the midst of a crisis. I was just sitting on a friend of mine's porch, in the autumn of the year, observing one of the most beautiful parts of the country: rural Southwest Missouri.
Lyrics
vI Oh, the country, is such a beautiful place to live, As you watch the sun setting through the trees. And Missouri is surely the place to live, You'll know what I mean when you feel the breeze. Chorus You gotta feel what it's like to walk gravel road, All the time in the world, and no place to go. Run down a rabbit just to see him hop away, Hold out your arms to God saying, "Thank-you for this day"! v2 Well, I know I've told you there's no place like here So drive a few miles and see just what I mean. Watch the leaves as the fall on the rocky ground, Listen to the bubblin' brook, and listen to the birds sing. Bridge And you'll be blessed just to get away, You'll relax and you'll want to stay. You'll find out that the land is your friend, Your heart will laugh like a child again.
